2009/10 – Sales Drive

For the remainder of 2009, the business is pursuing a national expansion strategy and sales push. This has already been well received by the market as many of the retailers we are talking to are looking for real cost savings in these tough times. CAPS has been able to demonstrate that it can deliver immediate savings whilst ensuring an excellent and consistent service on a national basis. The pipeline currently includes five national contracts covering 5000 more UK sites. 2008/9 – A Year of Consolidation & Further Deal Success

After the rapid growth experienced in 2006/7 when CAPS established many new prestigious client relationships including WHSmith, Thomas Cook, Next and Toys’R’Us, we have spent the last year consolidating our position and improving systems and services to clients. In addition, we were also delighted to have been awarded a contract by T-Mobile to service its branches nationwide.

Our highly successful relationship with Anabas Facilities continued to develop during 2008/9, securing new contracts with Burberry, Banana Republic and Robert Dyas. We also continue to work with Anabas for major retailers GAP, The Body Shop and Lidl.

We have worked with Lancaster Cleaning for 18 years, providing glass cleaning services to many of their customers including Portmans, Nationwide and Thomas Cook. In 2008, our contract with Thomas Cook expanded to include new stores resulting from Thomas Cook’s purchase of travel brand Going Places. Moreover, CAPS now services many of Lancaster’s commercial buildings in London.

Continuous Investment

In 2008/9 as part of our consolidation programme, we have improved the company’s support operation by investing in new integrated IT systems and infrastructure. Our sales systems now link with the expanded Helpdesk, which also connect with the updated back-office support network.

These improvements have enabled service excellence to be embedded in our processes throughout the company, across and within all contracts. It has also provided CAPS senior management and clients with more information than before, as well as better support for window cleaners and other staff, day to day via the Helpdesk.

Commitment to Health & Safety

The implicit connection between the highest quality standards and robust Health & Safety procedures is a core philosophy at CAPS, with continuous improvement in performance being our first priority, year on year

CAPS and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – Our long term view

Our long-term vision at CAPS is to develop a coherent Corporate Social Responsibility policy, in conjunction with ‘Business in the Community’ (www.bitc.org.uk) that helps to improve our social and environmental impact to all our stakeholders. By formalising this behaviour in a CSR policy, it will benefit our suppliers, employees and corporate customers.

As a medium sized business, we realise that introducing a detailed CSR policy would be idealistic if the goals were not achievable and not demonstrable. CAPS have always approached our relationship with employees, suppliers and the community in a responsible and ethical manner and have understood our role in a sustainable future.

There is no law that says it is illegal to climb ladders without training, however, Civil Law expects that ‘a duty of care’ is taken when climbing a ladder not to cause ‘harm or wrong doing’ to the general public and to take overall care. So be careful if you use a ladder inside or outside!
